Funeral services for Mr. Winfred D. Starr, age 91, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA with Bro. Gladney Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Old Shongaloo Cemetery, Shongaloo under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Starr was born on November 5, 1923 to Ed and Viola Caldwell Starr in Magnolia, AR and passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 in Taylor, AR. He was a member of Springhill United Methodist Church, U.S. Army Air Corp. Veteran during WWII, retired from International Paper Company after 42 years of service. Through the years he loved to quail hunt, read western books and watch westerns on T.V.

He is survived by two sons, Eddie Starr of Shongaloo, LA, David Starr of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Carl Starr and wife Cassie, Alex Starr, Paula Myers; eight great-grandchildren, Candice, Alexia, Morgan, Courtney, Serinity, Trey, Madison, Amberlee; one great great-grandchild, Evelyn; brother, Travis Starr of Emerson, AR; sister-in-law, Glenda Starr of Bentonville, AR; two special nephews, Bill Carver and wife, Pat of Shongaloo, Glenn Carver and wife, Linda of Pierce City, MO; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Mr. Starr was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carnell Harvey Starr, brother, Howard Wayne Starr, and sister, Unjay Starr.
