Early Life: Joe was born October 2, 1946, in Leesburg, Florida, to Grady Eugene and Elizabeth Louise Green Bowen. His siblings: Jean Smart, Rober Bowen, Glenn Bowen, Larry Bowen, Raymond Osborne, William Osborne, David Osborne and Randy Osborne.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On June 26, 1971, Joe married Clydene Brailsford in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was always a hard working man and had a special love for his military family and friends where he served twenty-nine years and nine months. He was so patriotic and had a great love for his country. Through the years he spent spare time doing electrical trade work, golfing, spending time racing in the 70s and 80s, and announcing in the 90s at local race tracks. Joe loved hunting and camping with the family. He went on numerous trips with close friends and shared so many memories with them traveling the country. Joe Russell Bowen passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 5:25 p.m. at his home in Payson, Utah, surround by family and friends. He was 68.
Military History: September 1964 Enlisted basic training (AIT) Fort Jackson, South Carolina. February 1965 Korea HHC7th INF. Division. Drove for the G-5 section of the General staff. March 1966-1967 Home from Korea, reported to Fort Ord California. September 1967 Honorable discharge. December 1982 Joined the Utah Army National Guard 116th combat service support engineers. April 1983 Transfered to (UMA) Utah State Military Academy, Camp W.G. Williams, Utah. October 2006 Retired MSG E-8.
Survived By: His wife, Clydene; his daughters: Jody, Lori, Mary Rachel; his sons: Grady, Joseph; and 17 grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; brother, David Osborne; nephew, Keith Bowen; nephew, Kenny Brailsford; and grandchild, Talon Bowen.
