Dick Roos Sr. Dies August 3 Funeral Here at First Reformed
Dick Roos, Sr., a resident of the Pioneer Memorial home here, died Wednesday, August 3, at Grossmann hospital.
Mr. Roos was horn January 18, 1878, at Pecotoni, Wl. He came to Sioux county as a young man, and farmed near Hospers until he retired and moved to Orange City about 15 years ago.
He married March 9, 1905 to Martha Peters. Three sons were born to this union: Dick of Renville, Minn., Jake of Bellflower, Calif., and Okko of Boyden.
Four grandchildren also survive, and two sisters, Mrs. Gerrit Van Es and Mrs. John Van Es, both of Orange City.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 6, at the First Reformed church. Rev. J. W. Brink officiated. Pallbearers were Gerrit Peters, Jake Peters, Ben Peters, Dick Roos, Jake Roos and Okko Roos. Van Etten funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
