Virginia C. Allison Platt, 94, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Evansdale, died at Windcove of Western Home Communities, on Thursday March 19, 2015.
She was born on December 25, 1920 in Washington, Iowa, daughter of Aaron and Laura (Eisele) Stafford.
Virginia graduated from West High School.
She married Russell Allison on Sept. 4, 1939 at his sister’s house in Cedar Falls. He died July 24, 1982. She married Marshall Platt Feb. 14, 1988 at Central Christian Church. He died Sept. 9, 2004.
Virginia was a homemaker in her own home.
She was a member of Central Christian Church and the Evansdale Garden Club. Virginia loved her grandchildren, sewing, and traveling. She also enjoyed flowers and taking care of flowers at the church altar for several years.
Virginia is survived by three daughters: Patty (Roger) Batchelder of La Porte City, IA, Karen Howard of Hartley, IA, Becky (Jack) Chappelle of Albuquerque, NM; son‑in‑law Dale Luhmann of Millville, MN; 11 grandchildren: Carolyn (Larry), Penny, Jim (Jackie), Matt (Lynn), Rusty (Mari), Jason, Joleen (Amanda), Nathan, Joshua, Ginny, and Christopher; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister Betty Kroblin of Waterloo, IA; brother Cloyce Stafford of Waterloo, IA; and brother‑in‑law Gordon Heckel of Waterloo, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, daughter: Nancy Luhmann; grandson Mark Batchelder, granddaughter Joanna Batchelder, sisters Alta Heckel and Polly Mills, and brother Everett Stafford.
