Harold V. Decker

Harold Vernon Decker, a life-ling resident of the Silver City-Glenwood area, passed away on July 29 in a Co. Bluffs hospital at the age of 72.

Ha rold was born July 3, 1901, in Silver City to Frank and Addie Stotts Decker. He married Frances Hayes on August 4, 1920, and their union was blessed with three children.

He spent his years engaged in farming in Silver City-Glenwood area and attended the Waubonsie Community Church for 25 years. He was active in the upkeep of the church grounds and the adjoining cemetery.

Services for Harold Decker were held were held and the Raynor, Lett & Kent Funeral Home on August 2 at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Durkee officiating. Casket bearers at the service were Arthur Goodman, Frank Hummel, Clarence Severn, Cletis Haynie, George Reafleng and Bill Wilson.

Music was provided by Mrs. Fred Harris, Mrs. Flossie Wood, and Mrs. Francis Dashner. Serving as flower bearers were Mrs. Bill Wilson, Mrs. Cletis Haynie, Mrs. Frank Hummel, and Mrs. Clarence Severn. Mrs. B. P. Madison was in charge of the Memorial Register book.

Surviving Harold Decker are: his wife, Frances; a son, Drexel of Junction City, Kan.; a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Donna) Hatcher of Glenwood; 4 granddaughters, Mrs. Richard Cape of Glenwood, Mrs. Peter Georgiadis of Campbell, Ohio, Beverly Holland of Salina, Kan., Belinda Decker of Junction City, Kan.; one great-grandson, Richard Cape, Jr. of Glenwood; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Wilhelm, Glenwood, Mrs. Edith Glebe of Co. Bluffs, Mrs. Edna Bolte of Silver City; two brothers, Gail and Guy of Glenwood.

Internment was at Silver City Cemetery.
