He was married for 43 years to Margaret E. Morris Carroll who preceded him in death on July 19, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Mae Carroll of Salisbury and James Carroll of Philadelphia PA and brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie Perkins (James) of Ridgley MD and Oliver Morris (Vera) of Laurel DE.
Charles worked for many years in the poultry industry. He was employed by Swift Processing Plant, Hancock & Sons, and Perdue Inc.
He was a longtime member of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church in Salisbury.
He leaves four children, Valerie Jackson (Wesley), Charles Carroll, Jr. (Dorethia), William Carroll (Tanya), Margo Handy (Mario), and 6 grandchildren, Samuel Thompson, Kevin Duffy, Jaime McNeill (Duane), Chantel Carroll, Stacy Carroll, and Jordan Barkley, all of Salisbury. He also leaves 11 great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters-in-law, Emory Morris (Annabelle) of Salisbury, Eleanor Fooks (Roland) of Greenwood DE, Marlene Morris (Glen) of Seaford DE, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 11 am at Wesley Temple. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
