John A. Weisbach, 99, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville.
Born, August 20, 1915 in Rush County, Indiana, he was the son of Frederick and Theresa (Kamps) Weisbach. John was raised by his Uncle and Aunt, Henry and Maggie Cutter.
He lived on a farm in Hamburg and moved to Greensburg in 1951 where he remained until he moved to St. Andrews in 2007.
He retired in 1979 from Bohn Aluminum and Brass in Greensburg. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg Senior Citizens, and the Knights of Columbus.
He was married to Eleanor M. Koetter on August 28, 1940 and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2006.
John enjoyed squirrel and rabbit hunting. He also enjoyed playing euchre every Monday night at the Senior Center.
He is survived by one daughter, Shirley (William) Niese, Greensburg; two grandchildren, Daniel (Nicole) Niese, Greensburg, Julie (Gary) Schutte, Sunman; five great grandchildren, Zachary Niese, Sydney Niese, Chase Schutte, Kinlee and Kylee Schutte.
He was preceded in death by her parents, wife; one brother, George Weisbach; one sister, Margaret Rathburn.
Visitation will be from 10-12:30 Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment with full military services will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund or to the St. Andrews Activity Fund.
