Virginia L. (Webster) Scharhag of Gladstone, MO, passed away following a short illness at St. Luke s Hospital January 14, 2004. She was born June 10, 1925, in Lee s Summit, MO, at the home to Ivin and Leola (Harris) Cox. She graduated from East High School in Kansas City in 1942. She married John William (Bill) Webster in 1946, who preceded her in death in 1976.
She worked many years as the attendance secretary for North Kansas City High School.
She is survived by her husband, Herman; her son, David W. Webster of Harbor City, CA; stepchildren, Carol Conklin and her husband, David, of Knoxville, TN, Robbin Musgrave and her husband, Tony, of Kansas City, and Scott Scharhag of Athens, GA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sarah Conklin, Brady Musgrave, Christopher Musgrave, Lauren Roberts, Matthew Scharhag , and her great-aunt, Francis McMillan of Lee s Summit.
Ginny was very proud of her family s heritage as early settlers of Eastern Jackson County and was a member of the DAR. She loved working in the garden, traveling and playing with her dogs.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2004, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Chapel, where visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made in Ginny s name to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Humane Society. (Arrangements: Mt. Moriah and Freeman, 816-942-2004)
