Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church here Tuesday for Mrs. Wm. A. Dorrence, who died at her home in Ayr, North Dakota, on February 23 after an illness of about three weeks with pneumonia.
Lucy Mary Dorrence was born on March 28, 1894, at Alexandria, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kraemer. She grew to young womanhood here and graduated from the Alexandria high school in 1912. She then took a two year course at the North Dakota School of Science at Wahpeton, graduating in 1914. Then she returned and took a post graduate course in domestic science here and then taught school for a few years at Ayr, where she met Wm. A. Dorrence and was united in marriage to him on June 20, 1920. Three children were born to this union: William, Harriet and Jack who survive her. Besides the bereaved husband and her parents, she leaves two brothers, Otto and Michael, to mourn her loss and two step-sisters and a step-brother: Mrs. Theresa Neal of Minot, Mrs. E. W. Meyers who lives out in Washington and Karl Kraemer.
The remains were brought here for burial in Kinkead cemetery after a requiem mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Wm. Renner, Tuesday morning. The pallbearers were: A. C. Schneiderhan, Sherm Costello, N. H. Renner, Henry Chan, Walter Augustine and Walter Leuthner.
