CLYDE LEWIS HUGHES SR., age 75, died Friday, October 3, 2003 at an Oklahoma City hospital after a short illness.
He was born May 1, 1928 near Calumet, Oklahoma to Joseph B. and Essie McDaniel Hughes. He grew up west of Minco and attended Hazel Dell schools and was a graduate of East Walnut High School.
He moved to Mustang in 1966 where he owned and operated Hughes Music Co. Clyde taught many children and adults to play the guitar, piano and clarinet. He enjoyed playing any type of music and volunteered his talents to the Mustang Senior Center and several nursing homes in the area.
He was a member of Ranchwood Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn of the home, one son Clyde L. Hughes, Jr. of Mustang, three brothers Everett of Blanchard, Clifton of Chickasha, Russell of Edmond, and one sister Sybil Scott of Chickasha.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 6, 2003 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma, with interment following in the Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, Oklahoma.
