Charles Hebert, 85, 304 Spring St., Spencer, was pronounced dead upon arrival at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m., having apparently suffered a heart attack while mowing the yard at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Jasperson Funeral Home, with the Rev. R. James Hagen officiating. Burial will be made in the West Spencer Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Jasperson Funeral Home beginning at noon on Thursday.

Mr. Hebert was born March 23, 1884 [many other sources give a different date] in Spencer and worked for the Soo Line Railroad for over 20 years, and farmed in the township of Beaver for 10 years.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Tassie Joss, Olivet, Kansas, two brothers, Chester, Loyal, and Roy, Spencer.
