Mary Clark Rooney Immigrated circa 1850 with her sister and mother. After a brief stay in Albany New York, as noted in the 1850 census, her sister Catherine married Patrick Devlin and left for Kewaskum, Wisconsin.
Mary and her mother traveled south to meet with her brothers James and John. In 1853 she married John Rooney, whom she had known in Ireland, in Mobile, Al.
Leaving her mother in Mississippi with her brothers, Mary & John settled in Brighton outside of Sacramento, California.
It is here the Rooney's founded one of the more prominent pioneer families in the area.
