The Oklahoman, Wednesday, May 3, 1944:
Rev Oscar C. Wilkins, 63, of 3225 NW 16, died Tuesday afternoon at Wesley Hospital of cerebral hemorrhage. A resident of the city since statehood, Mr Wilkins was an evangelist for the Pentecostal Holiness church. He was instrumental in converting the old Blue-front Saloon at 7 West Grand into a church 37 years ago. He was born in Campbell, MO.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Mae Wilkins; two daughters, Mrs W. S. Buerger, of the home address; and Mrs C. E. Sharp, Salem, AR; four sons, T. H. Wilkins, St Louis; CPL O. C. Wilkins, overseas in the Army; W. H. Wilkins, San Bernardino, CA; and E. E. Wilkins, San Gabriel, CA.

Services will be conducted at 10 am Thursday in the Watts Funeral home with burial in Rose Hill.
