Dorothy Mae DeLozier, 88, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville First Baptist Church, Blessed Trinity Hospice, Harrisonville, or Harrisonville Meals on Wheels.

Dorothy was born April 24, 1926 in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of Loyd M. and Jewell E. (Cook) Millam. She was a 1944 graduate of Clinton High School. She married the love of her life, Martin DeLozier, on March 16, 1944. They have lived in Harrisonville for 60 years. She worked as a beautician before they had children. Later Dorothy worked as the bookkeeper for the family-owned Harrisonville Auto Parts, until her retirement.

She was taught to love and honor the Lord and was baptized as a child. She was a 60-year member of First Baptist Church of Harrisonville, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was also a deacon’s wife. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and was involved in her children’s activities. Dorothy was a proud breast cancer survivor.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Leora Simmons. She leaves her loving husband, Martin, Harrisonville, Missouri; one son, Doug DeLozier and wife, Lynda, Belton, Missouri; one daughter, Debbie Goss and husband, James, Harrisonville, Missouri; one sister, Lucille Baker, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Janelle Vergouven (Neil), Brent DeLozier, Kelly DeLozier and Jason Goss; 2 precious great-granddaughters, Kara and Kelsey Vergouven; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
