Rev. Carl Lawson White age 96, of Maryville, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Carl pastored Hillcrest Baptist Church for 63 years and preached his last sermon there on March 8, 2015. He retired from Alcoa after 45 of services. He based his life on John 3:16, and ironically he walked through the heavenly gates on 3/16.
Preceded in death by: Wife of 70 years, Gladys White; Parents, Bethel & Meletta White; Brother, Ralph, Harry, & Homer White; Sisters, Velma Hord and Kathleen Flynn; Grandson, Jackie Dale Bryant.
Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law, Randy & Pat White of Maryville and Chris & Kimberly White of Seymour; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Linda & Johnny Bryant of Maryville and Vicki & David Hickman of Maryville; Grandchildren, Cindy, Traci, Scott, Jeff, Lisa, Ginger, Jordan, Jacob, Shane, Todd, Nikki; Great-Grandchildren, Chase, Lee, Evan, Taylor, Jake, Marley, Alex, Cory, Kaci, Carson, Italia, Logan, Maci, Alexa, and soon to be Landyn Kate.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Everett Hill Baptist Church. The family is thankful for the generosity of Everett Hills Baptist Church for allowing them to use their sanctuary to accommodate as many friends and family as possible. A fellowship will follow the service at the church. Family and friends will assemble for entombment at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 20, 2015 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel.
