Hazel passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Friday afternoon.

Born December 10, 1929 in Darlington, Idaho to James B. and Isabell Beagley Speirs.

She married her eternal companion, Glenn W. Furrow, on April 25, 1948.

Hazel was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many capacities.

She was a devoted homemaker and mother of five, who also possessed many talents, including being an incredible visual artist and talented seamstress.

She enjoyed many outdoor adventures with her husband, including a love of fishing as well as being an excellent marksman.

She retired from Winder Dairy after thirty years of employment, where she was very much loved and appreciated.

Hazel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Hazel is survived by her five children, Glenna Hatsis (George), Jim Furrow, Wendy Davis (Herb), Stan Furrow (Sheila), and Valerie Carter (Chip); twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Dean; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; brothers, Leo, Thomas, and LeRay; sisters, Anna and Helen; and grandson, Nile.

Hazel's family will be receiving friends and family from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel, also at Valley View.
