Bertha F. Abbatematteo, 78, of Priscilla Avenue, a laundress at Pantex Cleaners in North Providence before retiring in 1975, died yesterday at Roger Williams General Hospital.
She was the widow of Bellsario Abbatematteo.
Born in Newark, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Alexsandria (Abramowitz) Skomin. A former Smithfield resident, she had lived in Providence 14 years.
She leaves a son, Ben B. Abbatematteo of Glocester; two brothers, John and Walter Skomin, both of Providence; a sister, Isabelle Plante of Smithfield; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 8 a.m. from The Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church, Main Street, North Scituate. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
