Born in Hoboken, GA on January 11, 1937, he had lived in Jacksonville, Florida for many years before returning to Pierce County in 1984. He was the retired owner/operator or Carl Sapp Electric & A/C Service and was also a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. Sapp was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church. He had been an avid hunter and was an honorary member of the Pierce County Hunting Club. Mr. Sapp also enjoyed fishing and will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was a son of the late Arthur Allen & Azalie Shuman Sapp. He was also preceded in death by his infant sister, Clara Jo Sapp; and by two brothers, John Earl Sapp – his twin, and by Robert Sapp.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Aldridge Sapp of Blackshear; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny & Judy Sapp of Jacksonville and Mark & Mary Sapp, Eric & Mysti Sapp and Greg & Carmen Sapp all of Blackshear; three brothers, Eddie Sapp, Allen (Linda) Sapp, and Ray (Lorrie) Sapp all of Blackshear; a sister-in-law, Eloise Sapp of Blackshear; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Visitation for Mr. Sapp will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Mr. Sapp will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 1:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery.
