Allen Houston Harraid was born in September 1869 per the 1870 census. No documentation can be found as to who his parents are. It is my belief that the youngest daughter of John Redmond “Redding” and Lucy Ann Harraid named Polly is his mother. He has no documented siblings. He is found living with Polly, Redding, Lucy and Delitha in the 1870 census in Decatur Tennessee. He is listed as grandson of Redding. The 1880 census has him living with Polly and his widowed grandfather Redding in Meigs County, Tennessee. He met and married Cora Ann White on 31 March 1893 in Meigs County. They were the parents to 13 documented children Julia Ann, Allen Houston Jr, Frank, Vina Eva, Alice, Rayburn, Nellie White, Bertha, Ida Mae, No name stillborn girl, Twins Edgar & Edd, and William. Sometime between 1910 & 1920 the family moved to Marshall County, Alabama and then to Jackson County where he lived until he died on 25 February 1936.∼Son of
