Calvin N. Chapin was a clerk in the Missionary Rooms of the American Board of Christian Foreign Missionaries. (A.B.C.F.M.) He was known as "The Angle of the American Board" and in the library of the Congregation House as "Uncle Calvin". He retired in 1908 after 53 years at the American Board. His memory was a treasure-house of anecdotes of missionaries past and present.
