Joseph Boyd "Joe" Petty, age 70, of Archdale died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Petty was born in Guilford County on February 28, 1945 to Bill and Mary Sawyer Petty. He was a 1963 graduate of High Point High School and a graduate of Greensboro Technical College and Clemson University. Joe was currently a sales associate with Sentinel Fence Company in Lumberton. He was a member of West Bend United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Petty.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Sykes Petty; daughter, Karen P. Safrit and husband Harry of Asheboro; sons, Joe Hopper of High Point, Chris Petty of Archdale; stepson, Mike Ingold and wife Cindy of Asheboro; stepdaughter, Angie Isenhour of Randleman; grandchildren, Kristin Ingold Morris, Dean McClain, Michael Ingold, Kasey Ingold, Shelley Safrit, Harrison Safrit, and Nelson Safrit; sisters, Brenda Bryant of Charleston, SC, Carlene Corn of High Point; and brother, Tim Petty of High Point.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:30-2:30 pm in the fellowship hall at West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Road, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 3:00 pm at West Bend United Methodist Church with Rev. Drew McIntyre and Rev. Keys Pendleton officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
