David Alan McAtee, 65, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, at a Fort Worth hospital. Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Interment: Tye Cemetery in Burleson. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Gunn will officiate. David was born June 30, 1949, in Fort Smith, Ark., to J.D. McAtee and Regina Powell McAtee. He loved traveling to Europe and Hawaii. David lived a life of service to others. People regarded him as one of the kindest, most gentle people they had ever known. He was loved by all. There never was a truer person called to caregiving as a nurse and friend. Many people throughout years thought they had "just met an angel." David was preceded in death by brother, Phillip; and sister, Brenda. Survivors: Son, David Brandon McAtee; mother, Regina Hudgins and husband, David E.; sister, Teresa McGill and husband, John David; longtime friend and companion, Barry Phillips; first wife, Johnnie McAtee; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
