Afton McKean Brothersen, 72, died at home, May 3, 1992, of kidney failure and diabetes, under the loving care of her husband and son.
Born April 17, 1920 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Theodorus Emery and Iva Shepherd McKean.
Married Thomas Marvin Brothersen, February 17, 1944, in the Manti LDS Temple.
She was an active member of the LDS Church. Served on LDS mission in the North Central States, 1941-43.
She held several positions including Relief Society president, teacher in the Primary and Sunday School.
She sang in the ward choir.
Afton will always be remembered for going the extra mile to have love and harmony in her home.
She gave much and expected little in return.
The little things in life were especially important to her; the cute cards and small gifts from her grandchildren and the beauty of flowers in her home and in the world around her.
Survived by her husband; seven children and their spouses. dixie Lee (Lloyd) Kjar, Layton; Wayne, Holladay; Clair (Diane), South Jordan; Ilene Krischknecht, Manti; Keith (Kathie); Ralph (Shauna); and LeGrand, all of Mt. Pleasant; 23 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Erma (Dee) Anderson; Theo (Leslie) McKean; Beth (Leon) Mikkelson; Lois (Raymond) Davis; Maxine (Gary) Anderson.
Preceded in death by parents, two sisters, Bonnie Humfrey and Velma Davis and two grandchildren.
Funeral services Friday, May 8, 1992, 12 noon, Mt. Pleasant 4th LDS Wared Chapel.
Friends call Ursenbach Funeral Home, Thursday, 7-9 p.m. and Friday, one and one-half hours prior to services.
Burial: Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
