Russel Emmert Stern, 92 passed away on Feb. 23, 2015. He was born Dec 18, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Roy E. and Ethel M. (Fike) Stern. We was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He graduated from McPherson College and the University of Iowa. He was a Superintendent of Schools in severl small Iowa town, Wayland, East Buchanan, Victor.

Russel was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church and Kiwanis Club of Sun City.

Russel will be missed by his wife Rosetta (Bidne) Stern, children, Linda (Kenneth) Cook of Winthrop, IA, Mary Stern of San Francisco, CA, Carol McFadden of Littleton, CO, Richard Stern of Sun City, AZ, Bill (Terraleen) Stern of Indianola, IA and David (Annie) Stern of Bettendorf,IA, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also survived by five siblings, Donald Stern, Alvin Stern, Roy ( Philles) Stern, Robert (Susan) Stern and James (Anna) Stern.

He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1991, Darlene, his parents and seven sibling, Galen Stern, Irven Stern, Daniel Stern, Beulah Francione, Margaret Hansel, Doris Tyler, and Lois Llaoh.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on March 1, 2015 at the Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ/
