George W. Ayers, 78, retired railroad section foreman, died Tuesday at his home at 207 E. Kibby-st, after an illness of several weeks. He was a lifetime resident of Lima and was a member of the Borrowed Time club.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; one daughter, Mrs. Della Edgington, of Reese-av; nine sons: George, of St. Louis, Mich.; Harmon, of Dayton; Harry and Lloyd, of Toledo; James, Abner and Edward, of Plymouth, Ind., and Dennis and Milo of Lima; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Swisher, and Mrs. Mehalia Bowers, of St. Louis, Mich.; one brother, John, of Lima; 28 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the South Side Church of Christ with Rev. E. J. Penhorwood, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, Delphos.

The body was removed early Wednesday to the residence to remain until time for services.
