Son of Nathaniel Green and Anne Colquhoun
They married Dec. 17th,1818 in Pittsylvania Co. Va.

He married Nellie Rives, They had six children.

Berryman was wounded at Brandy Station October 11, 1863, and was in the Confederate Hospital in Danville, Virginia until December 11, 1863. He was
assigned as Captain of Company B,on November 8, 1864,captured at Dinwiddie
Court House on April 1,1865. He was released and he returned to Danville
and became an attorney.He served as Judge of the 4th circuit from
1878-1882.
