Roy moved to the Wishek Living Center in May 2014 and passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Wishek Living Center Apartments, Wishek, ND. He was 88 years old.
The memorial service for Roy Fredrick Nill will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the United Church of Christ church at Wishek, ND.
Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Roy Fredrick Nill, son of Christ and Mary (Herman) Nill was born December 20, 1926 at Kulm, ND. He attended rural country school and later attended school at Ellendale Normal College. Roy served in the United States Army for 2 years. Roy married Dorothy Gackle on June 6, 1954 at Kulm at the Parsonage. They farmed southeast of Kulm from 1954 to 1969 on his parent’s farm. In 1969 they moved to a farm east of Kulm and continued farming until their retirement. Roy and Dorothy moved into Kulm in 1977. Roy served on various community boards and was an active member of The Gideons International.
Roy is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Wishek, ND; children, Val (Louie) Anderson, Cogswell, ND; Mark (Randa) Nill, Kulm, ND; Kim (Jan) Nill, Chesterfield, MO; Tim (Kathy) Nill, Jamestown, ND and Tam (Don) Laeger, Fredonia, ND; grandchildren, Shawnna (Ryan) Bosse, Jesse (Amanda) Anderson, Daniel (Katie) Nill, Caleb (Jacey) Nill, Kulm, ND, Ava (Dylan) Brokaw, Abby Nill, Ally Nill, August (Ann) Laeger and Austin (Carmen) Laeger; great-grandchildren, Mason and Bradey Bosse, Hayley Anderson, Amos Brokaw, Max Laeger and Rusty and Beau Laeger; one sister, Ione (Nill) Schaefer, Tripp, SD; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Nill, Ellsworth, WI, and many nieces and nephews.
