William C. "Bill" Wever, 95, of Neoga, formerly of Effingham, passed away at 10:03 p.m. Sunday (March 8, 2015) in the Heartland Christian Village at Neoga.

Bill was born Jan. 23, 1920 in LaSalle County, the son of John N. and Lena Ethel (Brown) Wever. He married Rose Marie Harmon on Dec. 21, 1946 in Sigel. She survives.

He is also survived by one son, William David (Jan) Wever; two daughters, Linda Marie (Richard) Jones and Debra Jo (John) Cook; two brothers, Arthur Wever and John (Goldie) Wever Jr.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Mr. Wever was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles D. Wever; three brothers, Roger, Manley and Max Wever and two sisters, Helen Kibler and Jean Alexander.

Mr. Wever served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Effingham County Farm Bureau and a member of the American Legion Post No. 56 of Bloomington.

He was a retired project engineer at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul for more than 20 years.
