Vincent G. Agosta, 92, the husband of the late Anna Corso Agosta, of Dothan, AL, formerly of Auburn, New York, passed away February 22, 2015. Vincent was a Veteran having served with the United States Marine Corps, and retired as a foreman from Alco Products. He was an active member of the VFW, a fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus, and dedicated his time as an altar server and usher, at St. Columba Church in Dothan. Vincent was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He has been a resident of Dothan AL for several years. He is survived by two sons, Vincent J. Agosta, of Meriden, Connecticut, and Louis A. Agosta, of Skaneateles, New York; two daughters, Michele York and her husband Royce of Pinckard, Alabama, and Joanne Field of Auburn, New York. He is also survived by his sister, Antoinette Giancola of Auburn, New York; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Anna, Vincent was predeceased by his parents, Sylvester and Mary Agosta, a son, David (Michael) Agosta, and two brothers, John and Louis Agosta. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Alphonsus Church on March 2, 2015. Burial was held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Auburn New York with full military honors. The family extends its thanks and gratitude to the doctors and friends who assisted Vincent and to Alacare Hospice for their outstanding service and compassionate care over his final weeks. Contributions may be made in memory of Vincent to St. Columba Church, 2700 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301 or AlaCare Hospice, 3379 W. Main Street, Dothan AL 36305. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Anna and Vincent Agosta on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Columba Catholic Church at 6:30 pm. Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home.
