RUMMEL: Thelda Rummel, 87, of Oroville, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 in Oroville. Arrangements are under the direction of Ramsey Funeral Home,534-3877.

Her Legacy… Thelda May Rummel was born May 23, 1927 in Norden, Nebraska to Basil and Esther Kast.She was the last living descendant of nine children.Thelda passed on March 8, 2015 while at home surrounded by loving family. Thelda was married to Donald Rummel, her one in a million as she would tell everyone. Together they lived in Oroville for the past twenty nine years. Thelda was credited for starting the first all-women’s U.S. Forestry cook crew, called the Plumas Fryers. Her hobbies included camping, snow
mobile riding, fishing at Bucks and Oroville lakes with
her family and caring for others.

Her Family… Thelda is survived by her loving husband Donald Rummel, son Eugene Difuntorum of Oroville, daughter Linda (Jeff) Satterburg of Oroville,son Dale (Merry) Ackley of Arkansas, daughter Gale(Gene) Holbrook of Arkansas, daughter Joan Keehn of Texas, daughter-in-law’s Rosie Difuntorum and Yvvone Ackley of Woodland, numerous grandchildren,great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A very heartfelt thanks to Winie who assisted in caregiving for my wife and our mother. She is preceded in death by her sons, Rudy Difuntorum, Gerald Ackley,Tom Ackley, and Don Ackley and grandson Bobby
Holbrook.

Her Farewell Service…Graveside services will be March 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln
Blvd. Oroville, California. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Reception Event Center at the Bidwell Marina, 801 Bidwell Canyon Rd. Oroville. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
