Funeral services for Walter A. Anderson were held Thursday, April 29, from the Anderson Funeral Home. Rev. Oliver Ruud officiated. Pallbearers were Chester Hustad, Harry Johnson, George Ullman, Leon Van Wie, George Little and Art Olson. Interment was made in Kinkead cemetery.
Alter Andrew Anderson was born at Eagle Bend, Minn., Jan. 29, 1910, the son of Olof and Clara Anderson. At the age of 10 years he came with his parents to a farm near Carlos which his father purchased. In 1927 the Anderson family came to Alexandria and Walter made his home in this community until his death. On Sept. 24, 1930 he was united in marriage to Marvina K. Nelsen.
During World War II Walter enlisted in the U. S. Marchant Marine and for the past few years he has spent much of his time in foreign construction work in all parts of the world.
He passed away Friday, April 23, on his farm in La Grand township. Surviving are his wife, Marvina, two sons, Walter N., in the army attached to the Engineers of the U. S. Air Force in France, and Paul, age seven. Also surviving are one brother, Hugo, serving in the U. S. Air Force in Guam, and one sister, (Olga) Mrs. Harland Hoerning of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
