~POSTMASTER, LIONS CHIEF DIES IN MOUNT PLEASANT

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Ray Kenneth BOHNE, 55, 274 West 2nd South, Mount Pleasant postmaster for 26 years and Lions District 28-H governor, died here [Mount Pleasant] Saturday at 7:00 a.m.

Mr. BOHNE was a former president of the Utah Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States.

A past secretary of the library board for 20 years, he also was past president of the County Fair Board for five years, past president of the Mount Pleasant Lions Club and a charter member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mr. BOHNE was president of the 240th quorum of Seventies for 10 years and past superintendent of the ward MIA.

He was released a short time ago as assistant ward clerk of the Mount Pleasant Third Ward. He also was "Instructor" magazine director on the North Sanpete LDS Stake Sunday School Board.

Mr. BOHNE was born February 07, 1907 in Mount Pleasant, a son of Guy Frank and Maria Sorensen BOHNE. He married Helen ASPLUND May 24 1932, in Mount Pleasant, and the marriage later was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a lifelong Utah resident.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Ray K. BOHNE, Jr., Provo; a daughter Mrs. Robert E. (Loretta) FECHNER, Saint Louis, Missouri; one granddaughter and two brothers, Dr. Emmet J. BOHNE, San Jose, California, and Ervine F. BOHNE, Payson.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Pleasant Third LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Jacobs Mortuary Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the family home, 274 West 2nd South. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.
