Mrs. Annette Rice Clark was born in Howard, Steuben County. She married Arthur Clark, and the couple raised their family in a home south of Loon Lake in Wayland. They lived in Hornell a number of years before moving to Detroit to reside with their son, Charles. Mr. Clark died in 1927, and Mrs. Clark returned to Hornell to live with her daughter, Mrs. William J. MacKay and her family. She died there September 27, 1938. She was 83. Besides her two children and five grandchildren, surviving family members were two brothers, Fenton Rice of Binghamton and George F. Rice of Hornell; also one sister, Mrs. Mary Clymo of Titusville, Fla. Funeral services were held at the MacKay home Friday afternoon with burial in Lakeside cemetery at Loon Lake.
