Funeral Today for Mrs. Austin: Rites for Church Home resident to be held in Chapel: Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Ferris Austin, resident of Buffalo for about nine decades, will be held this morning at 11 o'clock in Hutchinson Memorial Chapel at the Church Home, 24 Rhode Island Street. Burial will be in Forest Lawn. Born and raised in this city, Mrs. Austin was Miss Louise Ferris before her marriage to the late Arthur W. Austin, who was at one time managing editor of the Buffalo Commercial. Her brother, the late George W. Ferris, was associate editor of the Buffalo Courier. Mrs. Austin died Sunday after a prolonged illness at the Church Home, which has been her residence for the last 23 years. She was 88 and left no survivors. Mrs. Austin had been a member of the Katherine Pratt Horton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for 30 years, and was a life member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants. She also was formerly a charter member of the Audubon Society of Buffalo, and officer and director in the Womens Educational and Industrial Union of Buffalo, and a member of the Niagara Frontier Landmarks Association. The Rev. Alfred Lock Williams, rector of St. Mary's on the Hill and chaplain of the Church Home, will officiate at the funeral.
