Ralph C. Lambert - Funeral services were held for Ralph C. Lambert, 63, Tuesday, June 17, at 2 pm at Goettsch Funeral home. Rev. Gideon I. Krein of the First Presbyterian church officiated and burial was in Oakwood cemetery. The Monticello American Legion post held military rites at the graveside.He was born March 9, 1895 in Monticello, the son of William and Virginia Smith Lambert. He attended schools in Monticello and graduated in the class of 1914. He married Evaline Appleby Dec. 15, 1917 in Monticello.Mr. Lambert was a rural mail carrier and had retired in 1950 after 30 years of service. He served in the navy in World War I and was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Pythias, Masonic Order and Great Jones County Fair board. He was a well known collector of antique music boxes.He is survived by his wife; one son, Glenn of Monticello; three grandchild; three brothers, A.O. Lambert, Charles Lambert and John Lambert, all of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Asa.Pallbearers were Ed Wirth, Joe Huxtable, Ray Brokaw, Irving Hintz, Alvin Bleadorn and Dale Adams.Monticello Express June 19, 1958
