Mike Brown an ex-police officer was riding along with a very good friend, Deputy Bill Jones of the Roane County Sheriffs Department. Deputy Jones had stopped at a residence to serve papers on the home's owner. Before Deputy Jones and Mike Brown could exit the patrol car the home owner and his brother armed with automatic rifles fire killing both Jones and Brown.Both men were later taken into custody and charged.
