Daughter of Niels and Melvina (Johnson) CHRISTENSEN.~OBITUARY OF VERDA G. FILLIS
MOUNT PLEASANT, UT - Services were held Friday March 19, in the Mount Pleasant LDS Stake Center for Verda G. FILLIS, 80, who died at her home on March 15, 1982. Mrs. FILLIS was born on July 30, 1901 in Mount Pleasant to Niels and Melvina Johansen CHRISTENSEN. She married James FILLIS in Ogden on September 20, 1920. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
He died on August 05, 1961. Mrs. FILLIS was a former beautician and was a member of the Mount Pleasant Rebekah Lodge where she served a term as Noble Grande. She was the Lodge musician for nineteen years and was District Deputy President of Central 52. A member of the LDS Church she was an organist in the Primary and a Primary teacher in the Mount Pleasant LDS Third Ward.
Survivors include sons Dewey FILLIS, Salt Lake City, Elmer FILLIS, Mission Viejo, California and Leon FILLIS of Orem. She had nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Burial was in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery under the direction of the Ursenbach Funeral Home.
