Carrie Wilkerson Peters passed away peacefully on March 4, 2015. Carrie was born in 1913 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Alvin Ray Wilkerson and Carrie Rinear Wilkerson.

Carrie lived her life with meaning and purpose, committed to putting forth her best effort in all that she did. Carrie was a graduate of Paulsboro High School in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Carrie partnered with her late husband, Ray Peters, by managing the financial part of their independently owned business in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and later became an administrative assistant within the Cherry Hill School District. Carrie and Ray were fortunate to travel extensively throughout the United States and abroad, and in 1979 achieved an important goal when they retired to Clearwater, Florida.

In 2013, radiant and filled with life, Carrie celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and close friends. Always a gracious hostess, Carrie will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, the gentle and loving way she reached out to family, friends and strangers alike, and her unending desire to serve and care for others.

Carrie was predeceased in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Harold Peters, and by 6 brothers and sisters. Carrie is survived by her daughter Jan Peters Patrick of Hockessin, DE, and her daughter Carole Peters Broadwater and her husband, Barry Broadwater of Elizabethtown, PA; her grandchildren Susan Patrick Musi and her husband Ken Musi of Greenville, DE; her grandson Scott Patrick of Hockessin, DE; her granddaughter, Kellie Broadwater Lichtinger and her husband, Joe Lichtinger of Waterford, PA; her grandson Keith Broadwater of Hummelstown, PA; her great-grandchildren Alexandra and Nicholas Musi, Scott and Sean Patrick, and Anne, Andrew, Adam and Aaron Lichtinger; and her sister Lula Wilkerson Dougherty of Pitman, New Jersey.

A private memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 West 13 Street, Wilmington, DE 19806. Internment will also be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice For All Seasons, 280 South Hill Drive, Grantville, PA 17028.
