Born in Fall River, MA on September 28, 1955, he was the son of the late Theodore R. Violette and Gilberte A. Michel Violette.
Leonard grew up in Somerset, the youngest of 7 children.
He and his parents moved to Portsmouth in 1986 and he began many years of involvement with the James L. Maher Center Bristol Workshop.
In 1996, he moved to Middletown and began a wonderful friendship with his housemates at Looking Upwards.
He is survived by his brothers, Robert (Irene) Violette of Cookeville, TN, Paul Violette (Delores) Violette of Aiken, SC, Philippe (Diana) Violette of Cookeville, TN, Leo (Donna) Violette of Portsmouth, RI, Roger (Virginia) Violette of Alta Loma, CA; and sister, Louise (Mrs. Frank) O'Neill of Portsmouth, RI; and his extended family at Looking Upwards.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, Portsmouth, RI.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Somerset, MA.
