Sister to Sarah Jane Carter Custer, Eliza Carter Hoxey, Charles C. Carter and half sister to: Lillie M. Carter (photo shown) and William J. Carter.

Married Josiah Leonard Naftzger May 21, 1863 in Ohio.

The young mother left children: Sarah Alzadie, Charles V, Catherine May, Ernest Carter, and Edward D. Eddie's photo here - he died at 10 years of age in Michigan but his grave has not been located at this time. Probably near Vergennes.

Mary lies next to her father, Reverend James Carter, who died 17 months before she passed away.
