He worked as an engineer for the Rock Island Railroad and the Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church in El Reno, the American Legion, NARVRE, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen and a volunteer for Mobile Meals. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby Ray Chaloner, sisters Doris Bell and Joyce Langham, and granddaughters Amy Michelle Menz and Stacey Hansen.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son; two daughters; a brother; two sisters; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the El Reno Cemetery Pavilion with burial of cremains at a later date.
