~OBITUARY OF O. V. ANDERSON

Services were held Saturday, November 26, in the Mount Pleasant Fourth LDS Ward Chapel for prominent Mount Pleasant civic leader and former city councilman, O. V. ANDERSON, 83, who died November 23, 1977 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. ANDERSON was born on March 07, 1894 in Fountain Green to Ole Christian and Sarah Ann Allred ANDERSON. He married Teresa E. MADSEN, May 10, 1916 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died October 05, 1976.

Mr. ANDERSON was a conservation officer for the Utah Fish and Game Department and was a retired district warden. He was a former member of the North Sanpete School Board and was a member of the Utah Peace Officers Association. He was an active member of the LDS Church and the Boy Scouts organization. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award and was honored for 50 years of service in the scouting program. He served as an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple and was a former counselor in the Mount Pleasant Fourth LDS Ward bishopric. Mr. ANDERSON was past president and was a member of the Mount Pleasant Lion's Club, and at the time of his death was director of the North Sanpete Senior Citizens Organization.

Survivors include one son and two daughters, O. V. ANDERSON, Jr., Provo; Mrs. Muray (Edna) MAUGHAN and Mrs. Max F. (Beth) ROSENLOF, both of Mount Pleasant; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lou (Edith) BIFFMIRE, Monroe; and Mrs. Rachel COULSON, Salt Lake City.

Services were under the direction of the bishopric with Bishop Robert Jorgensen conducting. The family prayer was offered by Muray MAUGHAN; prelude and postlude music, Judy Anderson; invocation, Mike Rosenlof; vocal duet, Beth Rosenlof and Edna Maughan; speaker, Lavor Ware; musical reading, MorRay Wilkey; tribute, Bishop Dail Averett; tribute, Royal N. Allred; vocal solo, Joleen Christensen; remarks, Bishop Jorgensen; benediction, Allan Maughan and dedication of the grave, Jack McAllister.
