ACCARDI, VINCENT T., JR. 76, of Absecon, died Friday, August 2, 2002 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Camden.

Vincent was born and raised in Atlantic City and graduated from Atlantic City High School Class of 1944. He was the former owner of a pool room and luncheonette and a Dairy Queen in the Ducktown section of Atlantic City, and later worked for and retired from the city of Atlantic City as an inspector. He was a member of the ALKI Social Club, and the Absecon VFW and was a coach for the Chelsea Hockey League youth team. He was an avid card and chess player. During WWII he was a corporal in the 309th Infantry Regt., 78th Div. where he was awarded the Bronze Star and the NJ Distinguished Service Award along with numerous other ribbons and awards.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Florence (nee Bell), two sons, Vincent III of Absecon, Ted and his wife Chris of Galloway Township, sisters Palma Rongione of Absecon and Barbara Compton of Northfield and five grandchildren, Vincent IV, Nicholas, Stephanie, Teddy and Christopher.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michaels Church, Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City. Viewing will be at the church Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of mass. Burial Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. George M. Funeral Home, Ventnor.
