Paul Norman Nelson was the son of Maria Thyberg and John Nelson. After graduating from Herbert Hoover High School, he worked in commercial refrigeration and during the war in an aircraft plant. On June 6, he was united in marriage to Marion E. Larson in Chicago, Illinois. Following graduation from North Park College and Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, he served the Evangelicals Covenant Church in Bristow, Nebraska; Larchwood, Iowa; Odebolt, Iowa; Twin Lakes, Michigan; McPherson (New Gottland), Kansas and the United Methodist Churches of Aulne and Florence, Kansas. Due to illness, he and his wife retired in McPherson, Kansas where he died at the age of 61 years. His paretns preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Marion, a daughter, Janelle, a son, Mark and a sister, Mrs. Theodora Carlson of Spring Valley, California and a niece and nephew and other relatives and his many friends. Paul was a devoted husband and father. Throughout life "in quietness and confidence" he found strength in God that reflected his love for God and his willingness to serve Him throughout his life.
Cause of death: Complications from Lou Gehrigs Disease.
