Alice Mae Boss of Roswell, Georgia (formerly of Eugene, Oregon) passed away March 1, 2015. Born Alice Mae Nelson on September 9, 1923 in Barnard, Kansas, she was the daughter of Will and Ruby Horn Nelson. She grew up on a farm, graduated from high school in Ada, Kansas in 1941, and received her degree from Asbury Hospital School of Nursing in 1944.

She was united in marriage with Richard Dale Boss on July 4, 1944. He came home from service after World War II and enrolled in college on the GI Bill to become a teacher. That began the adventure of their life together which included eleven moves in their over fifty years. They lived in Kansas, Colorado, Oregon, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Washington. Alice Mae worked as a registered nurse for thirty years, rising to the position of Director of Nurses in Astoria, Oregon.

She is survived by two children, William (Pam) Boss, Marietta, Georgia, and Rosemary (Chris) Pryor, Eugene, Oregon; her sister Edna Boss of Bennington, Kansas; and four grandchildren: Scott, John, Matthew and Drew. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
