Charles Emerson Woolsey was the son of George Lory and Emeline (Lee) Woolsey. He married Eleanor Ruth Phillips, the daughter of Joseph Edward and Anna Boyer (Rose) Phillips. They had three sons: Edward, John Lee and one son, living.

Charlie spent his early adult life in Hazelton, Luzerne County, PA where he worked as a salesman for a wholesale house. By 1940 they removed to Silvara, Tuscarora Twp., Bradford County, PA. Eleanor's sister, Lorena Phillips, always lived with Charles and Eleanor and their family. She is buried beside them in the Lacey Street Cemetery.

They were well respected members of the community and very good neighbors. My brother and I have very fond memories of Eleanor and Lorena, who were always kind and thoughtful to the children in the neighborhood. I can remember walking past their house and hearing Eleanor playing hymns on their piano. Eleanor and Lorena were members of the Silvara Ladies Mutual Benefit Society.
