Jeanne was born in Fonda, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest H. and Maud C. (Thornton) Wiese.

She graduated from Silver Lake High School in Ayrshire, Iowa, in 1942.

She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 34 years, retiring at the age of 52. She was operator, teacher and manager.

Jeanne was a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Omaha.

A believer in life-long learning, she took classes in sociology, psychology, and tailoring.

Jeanne enjoyed dining out, working crossword puzzles, sewing, and driving. She especially enjoyed visits with family and friends, and good conversations.

Survivors include sister, Carolyn Anderson of Ottumwa, Iowa; brothers, David of Lincoln, NE and Max of Des Moines, IA; 26 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Jane Sanders, Ernita Wiese, and Calista “Pat” Wiese; brothers: John, James, and Ernest “Tom” Wiese.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 5th from 8:30-10 am, followed by Services at 10 am, at the West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Chapel at the New Cassel Retirement Center.
