Obituary of Mr. Scott Burns.

Winfield S. Burns was born near Rensselaer, Ind., May 24, 1853, came to Iowa with his parents, John and Sophia Burns in 1865 and has lived in the community of Douds, since, making his home with his sister Mrs. Jerry Channell, where he passed away January 9th, 1920, in his 67 year, being sick a few days with pneumonia. His death comes as a shock to his many friends and relatives.

Always so well and hearty, ready to help every one. He will be missed and mourned by all who knew him. Surviving him are four brothers and one sister, several nieces and nephews left to mourn his death.

Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock January 11, 1920, conducted by Rev. Charles L. Ellis of Douds, Iowa. The remains were laid to rest in the Zion Lutheran cemetery.
