Opal McWells Raviscioni (nee Boggs) of Hanford earned her wings on March 20, 2014. She has joined her 2 husbands, Everett McWells (d. 1958) and Lorenzo Raviscioni (d.1981) as well as her eldest son Jerry McWells (d. 1992). She is remembered by her many friends and family including her sister Palestine "Pat" Haynes (98), surviving children, Arleen Goodwin and Donny McWells; grand children , great grand children and great great grand children as well as numerous extended family members.

One of 11 children, Opal was born August 5, 1920 in Liberty, Haskell Country, Ok. to Charles and Nellie Boggs. She grew up in Tamaha, Ok, and married Everett McWells in 1941. They moved to California shortly after, finally settling in Corcoran, Ca. After Everett passed, she began working, first as a waitress, then bartender and eventually owner of Chick's Place. She met Lorenzo in 1972, they married in 1978, and moved to Waukena, Ca. After Lorenzo passed, she moved to Hanford in 1983 where she spent her golden years loving the Lord, gathering her friends and family for parties, gardening, cooking, baking, playing dice and cards, and going on occasional outings to The Palace.

Opal will be remembered as the kindest, most generous, gentlest and most loving spitfire you could meet. She was "Great " or "Miss Kitty", "Aunt" or "Miss Opal", "Red" or simply "Grandma" to everyone she met. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her. Hers is a legacy of love and kindness.
