VIRGINIA HAGGARD WED T0 ASA BANKS Rites Yesterday Evening in Winchester, Ky., Where Couple Will Reside.
The marriage of Miss Virginia Ann Haggard of Rock Springs, Ga., and Asa Norman Banks of Winchester, Ky., was solemnized last evening in the rectory of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Winchester. The Rev. John F. Danz was the officiant.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Leo A. Beale and Col. Beale of Rock Springs and Mr. Banks parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester Warren Banks.
The bride was attired in a pink wool dress designed with a sequin-trimmed neckline. Her accessories were brown and her corsage was of bronze orchids. Mrs. Hugh E. Wedding, who served as her sister's matron of honor and only attendant, wore a navy blue wool dress with a corsage of red rosebuds.
The bridegroom's brother, Clark Banks of Chelyan, W. V., was best man. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Beale chose a blue crepe dress with which she wore a corsage of white gardenias. Mesdames E. M. Allen Jr., Frank Lockridge, Robert E. Strode, D. B. Scobee, and James Fishback of Winchester and Miss June Banks of Chelyan assisted at the reception which followed the ceremony. The Winchester Country Club was the scene of the reception. After an eastern wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Banks will reside at 31 Wheeler Avenue in Winchester.
Out-of-town guests were Mrs. J. W. Saunders of Chattanooga, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Champ, William Champ, Miss Dorothy Champ, Mrs. Walter Champ, Covington, Ky.; Miss Jeanette Banks, Dayton, Ky.; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Banks, Miss June Banks, Mrs. David Smith.
